- Membrane impermeant - DOES NOT LABEL INTACT LIVE CELLS (dead/live gate)
- Rapid uptake into DEAD / MEMBRANE COMPROMISED / FIXED NUCLEATED CELLS (3µM, 5 mins at RT/37°C)
- A-T minor groove DNA binding closely parallels histone 2b distribution.
- Fluorescence specifically located in the nucleus revealing nuclear architecture within fixed cells.
- Limited RNA-associated fluorescence has been observed.
- No apparent fluorescence enhancement upon binding to DNA.
- 16 nm red-shift to Emmax 694 nm on binding to DNA
