DRAQ5TM - Flow Cytometry Features
- Provides Nuclei / Cell Cycle / Ploidy parameter in blood / leukaemia cell subset analysis with fluorescent antibodies on an argon laser (488 nm) benchtop cytometer
- No compensation needed with common FITC/GFP + PE combinations
- No detectable effect on FSC, SSC, & FITC or PE fluorescence when counter-staining peripheral blood cells
- Compatible with FITC / PE stained samples for rapid labelling of nucleated cells. It is possible to do this retrospectively on retained material to identify:
- Residual RBCs in poorly lysed samples
- Residual leukocytes in RBC preparations
- Residual leukocytes in platelet preparations
- CD45-negative nucleated cells (e.g. endothelial, erythroid, plasmodium infected)
- Simple 'no lyse/no wash' protocols with FITC / PE stained samples for labelling of nucleated cells in rapid screening tests (NOTE: scatter information is retained).
- Provides cell cycle data in mixed populations identified by FITC / PE labelling. Similar quality of analysis to traditional PI or Eth-Br methods. Incubation of pre-stained samples takes <10 min, for fixed or intact cells.
