| Using CyGEL™ to immobilise fluorescent beads |
The time-lapse pictures below‡ illustrate how fluorescent beads are effectively immobilised using CyGEL™, allowing for the simple and accurate calibration of optical instrumentation in X, Y and Z orientations. The same can be achieved with cells.
The formulation of CyGEL™ provided by Biostatus in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), also conveniently allows the user to immobilise BOTH beads and LIVE cells for accurate calibration and analysis.
‡ The colours shown represent the new positions of the beads in each image, where white is the original position at 0 sec. As can be seen, the CyGEL mounted beads do not move.
