DRAQ5 in new blood & BM differential method

Posted: 25-Apr-2008

A powerful and simple new methodology for a total nucleated cell differential has been recently published in the Journal Cytometry B (Clinical Cytometry).

This new method uses DRAQ5 to gate nucleated cells, a panel of 6 antibodies in 4 groups and the 5 fluorescence channels of the Beckman Coulter FC500.

This one-tube, lyse-no wash method shows excellent correlation to cell counters and microscopy and offers a real alternative to the laborious manual scoring of smears from samples flagged by the cell counter.

Using the DNA binding properties of DRAQ5 cell cycle information was also available.

Using the DRAQ5-, CD36+ events it was also possible to enumerate the platelets.
