Lamp/Camera Microscopy FISH
efficient nuclear staining...
DRAQ5™ has been used in Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) analysis.
Spectral compatibility with visible range fluorphores like Cy3 and GFP make DRAQ5™ ideal for nuclear localisation.
DRAQ5™ has been used on PFA-fixed paraffin embedded sections which have then been probed using chromosome specific probes (Visconti et al. Circulation Research 2006; 98:690-696).
Using epifluorescence microscopy on paraffin-embedded tissue sections female donor (GFP+) haemopoietic stem cells were visualised in male recipient mouse cardiac tissue. Nuclei were stained with DRAQ5™ and the GFP+ donor cells were further confirmed by exclusive staining of host cells with a Cy3-labelled Y-chromosome specific FISH probe.
