Lamp/Camera Microscopy
applications across a wide range of instrumentation platforms...
Lamp/Camera Microscopy can be used to readily visualise samples by epifluorescence.
Despite the fact that conventional microscopy hardware lacks the focusing power of a confocal system, it is possible to achieve higher sensitivity. Often, photobleaching is also less pronounced.
Techniques rely upon the selection of appropriate filter cubes for excitation and emission wavelengths and may require re-mounting or overlaying separate images to observe co-localisation of signals.
DRAQ5™ is a flexible reagent to image nuclei at a range of excitation wavelengths for live or fixed cells, fresh and paraffin-embedded tissue sections. DRAQ5™ can be applied to this method and simply requires selection of appropriate excitation and emission filter cubes. DRAQ5™ can be excited at a variety of different wavelengths making it a flexible tool for epifluorescent imaging.
CyGEL™ is a novel thermo-reversible hydrogel mountant that allows immobilisation of motile suspension cells. It can also be used with adherent cells and tissue sections and as a carrier for cell dyes. CyGEL™ allows simple and rapid mounting of live suspension cells for all light microscopy applications.
