INCREASED CONFIDENCE IN AUTOMATED IMAGE ANALYSIS:
DRAQ5™ differentially labels BOTH the nucleus and the cytoplasm to demark the cell boundaries of these compartments. This allows the automated compartment segmentation to be much more robust and reliable. This can be an enormous benefit for translocation assays.
FLEXIBLE ASSAY PERFORMANCE:
DRAQ5™ can be used to stain live or fixed cells as the final step directly before imaging or combined with PFA for a one step "fix and stain" to simplify and increase the efficiency of your assay
Cells can be DRAQ5™ stained for several hours during exposure to compounds (Rosado, 2008)
DRAQ5™ can report the toxic effects of compounds on cells: count the number of nuclei (=cells) relative to the control, impacts on gross morphology nuclear diameter/shape, cell volume/shape (Simonen, 2008) and excitingly the formation of peri-nuclear lipid vesicles (Xu, 2008).
